Fundraising – Fundraising is a necessity for our program. It takes a lot of resources to run a quality music program like ours and we receive no outside funding. As a non-profit organization, the YLMS Instrumental Music Booster Club depends on the generosity of donors to help cover our operating costs. We thank you in advance for any support you can provide. The YLMS-IMBC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Your contribution may be deductible for income tax purposes.
Hero Luncheon – The boosters host a pizza party for the hero sections for all music classes. Hero instruments are the low brass (trombone, tuba), low woodwinds (bass clarinet, bari sax) and low strings (cello, bass). Typically done twice a year on a Wednesday since all students have the same lunch period that day. Volunteers needed for pizza pickup and serving.

Many of the kids viewing the performance have been learning a musical instrument for a few months – gives them something to look forward to on their musical journey. At conclusion of tour there is a pizza lunch at Hurless Barton. Volunteers are needed for transportation of instruments between schools and to assist with pickup and serving of lunch.

Many volunteers needed all days to help Performing Band in and out of uniforms and helping to tie ties for Advanced Orchestra and both Intermediate Band and Orchestra.

We provide a concert facility and personnel to for Instrumental and Vocal groups to be adjudicated. High school and middle schools travel to our venue (Lakeview Elementary) – we set up the MPR with chairs, risers, and instruments needed for each performance. Typically on a Saturday morning but occasionally on a Friday evening. We need volunteers to help set up, check in groups, guide groups to warm-up area, etc. It would be great if you could volunteer the duration of the event BUT if not even an hour or two helps TREMENDOUSLY. There is some standing around while groups are performing BUT we still need you!
