Intermediate Band

The Intermediate Band is predominantly 6th graders but open to any student who plays a wind instrument and who has one or more years experience. This class is designed to further develop performance techniques on traditional band instruments at an intermediate level. Areas of instruction will include: instrument care; detailed instruction on breathing and tone production; fundamental study of notation and theory; and music analysis and interpretation. Students will be exposed to larger and more complex forms of music through ensemble performance. The Intermediate Band is designed as a preparation for Performing Band.
